The group is able to answer the riddle of Narasimha the Sphinx, thanks to the fact that they know Alana. Narasimha gives them a ride to the civilization of the Great Desert.
Sir Gyles, thanks to his status as a paladin of Osiris, is given the VIP treatment. But something is wrong in al-Laqant. Everyone is afraid, and the region is much more fertile and green than their history tells them it should be.
The party learns that someone named Laktos the Intolerant has taken over the region of Qasr, further to the south. Qasr is probably where the party's kobold friends are being held prisoner. But the party also learns that the Revenge Squad is in the area. They were spotted going east towards Banha.
Research in the city archives reveals that the party's actions in the past have been written into history.
The Motley Too follows the Revenge Squad to Banha. They meet a historian named Lady Katherine who is researching the Tomb of... Gilez-Hotep?!
